Two years ago my best friend had a north carolina wedding. She and her husband grew up in Ohio, but wanted to have a destination wedding. They chose to go to North Carolina for the laid back beach feel. My friend planned a very casual, yet romantic wedding on the beach right before sunset. The wind made her hair and wedding dress look alive. They managed to time the ceremony perfectly so that their first kiss happened right as the sun was dipping below the horizon. The reception was on the beach in a candle lit tent. It was magical to dance on the sand and eat dinner beneath the stars. This was one of the best weddings I have ever had the pleasure of attending. It was different and it truly showed the power of their love. I am excited because they said for their 20th wedding anniversary that we are all going back for a vow renewal ceremony.

What is the first question you should ask a photographer? Okay maybe the second question. The first question should be is my date and available. Then the next question you should ask Athens Georgia wedding photography companies is what is the equipment that you use to photograph your typical wedding. What kind of camera do you use to you have a digital or film camera. Yes believe it or not, some photographers are still using film. Film cameras are significantly cheaper but still give great results. After using a digital camera it will be an SLR. But the real question is do they have a full sensor are not. Full sensors are much better quality than less than full sensors. Brand should not play a part in determining the quality of the camera. As long as it is Nikon or Canon it should be a quality camera. The camera lens is much more important than the average person thinks. The camera lens makes a huge difference in the image quality, can only afford one good lens, while other photographers have multiple quality lenses.

Tonight I was browsing twitter, I do that sometimes because I assume no one else does. I feel like it’s a room of people shouting, no one listening, and frankly, I’m the wall-flower type. Anyhow, I saw a tweet about Frito Pie, Barbecue, and fish tacos making their way to New York City. Now I’m not naive enough to think that fish tacos and Barbecue came from Texas, but the tweet did happen to be from an annoyed Texan that thought these culinary treats belonged to the Lonestar state alone. Frito pie however, I had not even heard of until moving to the big state, and the thought of it infiltrating the north got me thinking. Is there anything that is geographically unique?
Bigger companies will always want to grow, so I didn’t even spend any brain power trying to think of the fortune 500′s that were secluded in one section of the world. Instead I tried to think of a local business that was only in my home city. I narrowed it down to tiny businesses that needed to be operated by humans. If there was a product that could be ordered I ruled it out. This mostly leaves services and small restaurants. I somehow stumbled upon a Photo Booth company called Flicker Stage. They rent photo booths throughout the Dallas area, and the service requires an attendant. Surely this business is local. After some digging, I found that even the tiny Flicker Stage business was operating in multiple cities with plans to expand.
What is the effect this universal globalization is having on our cities is a loss of identity. Downtown areas are becoming sparse. The sidewalks are empty, there are no street level businesses and not even much in the way of downtown residents. To find the people you are forced to the outskirts, where you find all signs of life heading into the local Bonefish, Waffle House, or Applebees. I guess it’s nice to know that on any of the identical four lane thoroughfares throughout the U.S. you can almost guess where the next Best Buy, Target, and Home Depot will be. But at what cost? Personality, there is an extreme lack of personality, or even noticeable landmarks among the U.S. cities. This is also effecting the people, a bunch of boring clones of humans, that think Italian food is what you get at the Olive Garden, and that an exotic sports car is a Camaro.
I hope that in my lifetime, I see a balance struck between the convenience and economy of globalization, but also a strong proliferation of small businesses, if for nothing else, to give people a reason to visit a city that is not their own.

Sharpness is one of the things that stands out the most with photos taken by the Tamron 17-50mm lens. The shots definitely look much crisper than I would have expected from a third party lens available at the price of the Tamron. When compared to other lenses in its class, it is not just the price tag that is smaller. The Tamron is physically much more compact that both its Nikkor and Cannon equivalents, which makes it a nice lens to carry around with you. I have made some great shots with the telephoto end of this lens, and it is only with the wide end that I noticed some aberrations creeping in. If you like shooting at wide apertures, this might be a bit of a deterrent, but then again there are so many great image editing software packages on the market that this is no longer such a big issue.
